Locating Shanks Paintings

 

The location of much of the works by the Shanks' sisters is unknown.   It is believed that most paintings remained in the Soviet Union after 1917, several of these can be now be seen in museums of the ex-Soviet states.  The most useful reference sources for the Shanks' sisters  paintings are contemporary magazines and early 20th Century postcards, the of paintings of children, were particularly popular subjects for the postcards.
